Egypt's airports just went through inspections by multiple nations. I guess Egypt didn't follow up on anyone's recommendations.

It sounds as if the hijacker is just love sick for an old romance. Apparently a nut case that feels hijacking will make him more appealing!

BBC News is reporting that all hostages are now off the plane, but the Guardian reporting 4 passengers still on board.

Sky News, Reuters and Egyptian News all say he is a professor of veterinary medicine at Alexandria University.

There appears to be some doubt about the 'bomb belt' being real now.

Hijacking planes to impress a woman is a good way to get into her burka if you're a Muslim. He'd probably do less jail time if he just sexually assaulted her, though.
