Why are you even asking this? I clearly thought her claim of assault was bogus. I was simply asking why the guy even grabbed her arm.

I'd have to agree that she completely exaggerated the event and is very possibly guilty of self injury. Likewise, looking at her and her supporters, she has a lack of credibility problem. But that doesn't give the Trump camp a pass for handling their reaction so poorly. Had they handled it correctly, her claims would have been dismissed by now.
They have it out for Trump which is quite possibly only going to help him.

Ms Fields made similar unsubstantiated charges against Police in 2011 during the NYC Occupy protests.

She actually has a history of this sort of thing. A few accusations have been recanted. Surprise.
