I found this link very informative, and it seems to support your claims as it shows a much higher abuse rate among kids with gay parents. I have been reading various studies done on this subject and find them to be very discouraging for the outcomes of these kids, compared to heterosexual parents. Another study mentioned figures of around a 30% chance (much higher than normal) that the kids will turn out gay, as compared to less than 10% with hetero parents. This pretty much proves for many children, being gay is a learned behavior one chooses or is influenced into, and not always something biological that you are born with like gays would like you to believe.

The Family Research Council (FRC) champions marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society. FRC shapes public debate and formulates public policy that values human life and upholds the institutions of marriage and the family. Believing that God is the author of life, liberty, and the family, FRC promotes the Judeo-Christian worldview as the basis for a just, free, and stable society.
Quote:
The FRC promotes what it considers to be traditional family values, by advocating and lobbying for socially conservative policies. It opposes and lobbies against LGBT rights (such as same-sex marriage and LGBT adoption), abortion, divorce, embryonic stem-cell research and pornography. The FRC is affiliated with a 501(c)(4) lobbying PAC known as FRC Action.

The Family Research Council? Seriously? That's as credible as linking to Klan website for information about blacks.
Here's a review of most of the studies/literature of children of lesbian and gay parents. There is NO valid research that shows what you claim. Seems that there is no real difference between children raised by heterosexual parents and children raised by lesbian or gay parents. Except that children of lesbian parents often do better in several areas.
"A growing body of scientific literature demonstrates that children who grow up with 1 or 2 gay and/or lesbian parents fare as well in emotional, cognitive, social, and sexual functioning as do children whose parents are heterosexual. Children’s optimal development seems to be influenced more by the nature of the relationships and interactions within the family unit than by the particular structural form it takes."

If you want to be 'informed', why would you go to a fringe anti-gay conservative religious organization with a known history of distorting and lying about research and vilifying gay and lesbian people?
And now for the real story of the Regnerus 'study':
Are you two fricken kidding me? You have ZERO evidence to back up your stupid claim that gay parents will abuse their adopted children. Take your hate and shove it.
And what do you mean, "as long as they are a last resort"? Do you know what a kid wants the most? A family to love and care for him/her. They don't really give a flying rat's backside WHO IT IS, they just want to stop being moved from one foster home to another.
How about: YOU don't get a say in it. You're not the kid, you're not the one looking to adopt. It doesn't affect you, so shut your pie holes about it.

It seems to me there would be some benefit placing gay children with gay parents and straight children with straight parents (providing you can determine the sexual preference of the child). As a straight person, I wouldn't want to not have the benefit of having a male and female role model right in my home if at all possible.
And can we stop with the argument that "loving gay couples are better that abusive straight parents"? Has it been proven than gay people are less abusive than straight people? The argument seems to diminish the cause by implying that gay couples are different than straight, when it should be that they are the same and therefore there is nothing for people to object to.

Far-right Christian fundamentalist George Alan Rekers has a long history of anti-gay activism. He was part of the Family Research Council when the Rev. James Dobson founded that group in 1983, and he spent many years as a so-called “scientific advisor” for the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality, or NARTH, an organization specializing in bogus “restorative therapy” or “conversion therapy” for gay men. Rekers testified in court many times about how “destructive” and immoral he considered the “gay lifestyle” to be and claimed to offer scientific evidence that gay men could be converted to heterosexuality. But in 2010, Rekers (who was married with children) showed his hypocrisy when he used Rentboy.com, a gay website specializing in male escorts, to find a male companion for a 10-day visit to Europe. The escort told the Miami New Times that he had sex with Rekers during the trip, and Rekers resigned from NARTH because of the scandal
Does the child ever get a question like below before the adoption takes place?
'Heather, do you want two mommies or two daddies?'
'Jamal, do you like white people?'
'Jimmy, would you mind praying on a rug five times a day?'
A host of other questions arise......
Are different race children being steered to prospective parents? Are they denied same race children?
Hey, before you cry RACIST, HOMOPHOBE, RELIGIOUS ZEALOT or attack my reason for asking.....I AM just asking......
Ok, you're just asking. Let me ask you, why do you think it's important that there's a difference?
Do you think it matters if a kid has different cultural background, by birth, than the family he will be raised with? Do you think that a kid born to a certain race/religion/social class must stay in the swim lane he or she was born into? If yes, why do you think it is important?
