Again, who died and made you the arbiter of this? As long as the business owner is providing a safe work environment, and has people who want to work, why is this of any concern to you or anyone else?

Why is a business owner entitled to a profit, or to even own a business?

Do they have a right to try to achieve either? Yes.

Do they have a right to be entitled to either? No.

Who told you that? The socialist, Barack H Obama?

There are good points on both sides of this debate. And liberals do seem to have a special brand of hate for business.

I think the big difference, demonstrated in this thread, is that many conservatives think of employees as a disposable commodity. Progressives tend to think of people as an invaluable resource. Hence you have the disagreements like the ones in this discussion.

"Progressives" said nothing the last 7 years as these resources fell further and further behind.

What do you mean by that? Be specific.

Who on this board actually earns minimum wage? Nobody? That's what I thought.

In order to make that little money, you basically have to prioritize almost everything else in your life over earning a living. You literally have to basically not care at all about your career. If you care, even one little bit, you are not going to be earning minimum wage. The last time I earned that little money I was 15 years old bagging groceries at a store. I worked hard and found a job that paid a little more as a dishwasher and have never looked back.

People aren't entitled to higher wages. They either earn them or they don't.

In another post on this thread you basically stated that you understood that with a $15.00 minimum wage that employers will desire and hire people for minimum wage positions that have more qualifications and experience than the people who currently hold those positions...who would be displaced...and that you don't have a problem with that....not caring about the fate of the people who currently occupy those positions at a current minimum wage. .

In the post above.......you are worried about the current employees (those at the bottom) being shortchanged and are worried about people who are below them, those looking and desperate for employment.

Re the two paragraphs directly above, you are talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Which is it?

Do you care about the people making the current minimum wage, or not?

Wouldn't those desperate for employment be better off with at least some employment rather than none?

Or is it all about pushing this aspect of a progressive agenda, and everything else be d*mn*d?
