There are those who get called 'old souls' because they seem to have more wisdom and peace about life than they should, but then it has been learned in many others.

If you consider the term 'life' an organic one, no, I wouldn't want to live forever, even if my body did not break down. The rest of non life gives time to be away from the stress of living and find the gains and the losses so the next life may be better.

If you consider the soul, then we do 'live' forever, or until we've come to ultimate peace and do not need to 'live' anymore.

I couldn't have said it better.
You are so right about the human existence.

Bob.

would i want to live forever? sure. while i am not afraid of death, when he does come to my door, he is going to have a hard time taking me with him. besides i would love to see what kind of new technologies would be created in the next 1000 years, and it would be great fun telling the newborns 700 years from now ll the things they missed that i saw.

It would suck if your friends/family all died and you were left alone still living.

Would you want to work and pay taxes forever?

When we become immortal, life would have lost all its lust and meanings.

If I could continue my current physical self for another 900 years, I would do it in a heartbeat. I'm 30 and I haven't done a fraction of the things I want to do.
