"The French aristocracy was ill-prepared to quell a revolution"

Can we please stop applying this term to a pretty ho-hum event that has happened every four years in American politics, otherwise known as a Presidential election? Sanders and Trump voters, I'm looking at you specifically, but you're not the only offenders by a longshot. Voting someone into office, even if they're never held elected office before, is not a revolution. It's voting, something that every American 18 and older should be doing. Revolutions, as the definition implies, are violent uprisings involving the taking up of arms, bloodshed, and usually, protracted suffering and struggle for both sides. We, as a nation, went through this in the late 1770s specifically to create a system where there would be a peaceful transition of power on a regular schedule which has endured for 240 years. To be clear, I'm not advocating FOR a revolution, just asking that voting a Presidential election not be so overstated.
