Congress was in session 132 days in 2015, or an average of 3 days/week.

Congress Will Be in Session Longer in 2015

Now, if they spend the majority of that time fundraising, how much does that leave for addressing problems?

What a joke...

The first job of every elected person is to get re-elected. Where have you been?

Yes, because ideally you want more government intervention in your life.

Addressing what problem?

Do we not have enough laws? Do we want to lose more freedom than what's left of it?

We have more laws than the government can keep track. Frankly, virtually nothing is legal in USA anymore.

Yeah, yeah, I understand that. Just wondering why we bother electing people only to re-elect them...

That, and the 'popular' candidates are paving the road for any doorknob that runs under the same R or D as them. Supporting and validating the likes of Todd Akin in Missouri....

We, as tax payers, should quit paying their salaries altogether, make them pay a lease on their offices in the capitol, and continue on their merry way of doing nothing but begging for money.

Why do you assume that solving problems requires new laws?

Some of the laws on the books need to be done away with, and most new bills are so partisan or so much BS that they will never get passed.

Piling new laws on top of old is not 'problem solving'.

If they repealed one useless or antiquated or conflicting law per work day it would take something like 150 years to get back to the constitution.

So....don't do anything???

Just say we like it the way it is and let it be?

Look, they work 1/3 of the year, spend the majority of that time fundraising, and get nothing done.

Why are we electing them and paying them?
