Why are our ships in the Baltic Sea and how are they defending our freedoms by being there?

'Red' herrings in that sea are threatening us.

Exactly. Don't bait the bear and you won't get bit. The military industrial complex and their war party mouthpieces want a new cold war to justify their existence.

I do not mind that our ships are there, but I do hate the "OMG" reaction from everyone whenever anyone else's ships or planes approaches our borders.

As for the ship buzzing, we did it during the Cold War, just because we stopped does not mean all of a sudden everyone is going to stop with us.

What's to say we really stopped?

It's part of NATO forces showing a presence in the region as a result of Russians flexing their muscle to see what they can move into, as they in Crimea recently.

Russia would like to retake the Baltic states - Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The Bear has been pawing at the ground around there.

We don't have enough support there, but it's good that there is some. At least we're not being wimps and p.c. and kowtowing to them.
