Hearing foreign languages on airplanes has always been commonplace.

Then your gripe ought to be with the people who take highly dubious stories like this at face value.
It's really not even about whether or not this was a set-up.
It kind of went the direction they were expecting.

If he was intentionally acting so as to make other passengers nervous and provoke a reaction then passengers were right to tell the airline staff and they were right to kick him off. What is the problem?
Another passenger overheard him and said he used an Arabic word associated with terrorism. Because someone said.
Right. He wasn't kicked off the plane for speaking Arabic, although that thread title is provocative, which I assume was the purpose.

Once officials/airline authorities were alerted of this possibility, they reacted appropriately. And, assuming that the other passenger in question actually thought she heard that term, she acted appropriately as well. That said, I feel for the young man, as he did nothing wrong. But, in cases like this one, its better to be safe and sure than sorry for not acting.
