Why do they keep giving birth to more and more that are predestined to lead the same lifestyle....And why does "the ghetto" and poverty go hand in hand with filth, pit bulls, drug usage, alcohol abuse, gangs, vandalism, theft etc.
Can't you be poor yet clean, law abiding and smart enough to recognize what not to do to change your life course?
Us taxpayers offer you free schooling and a free bus pass...get an education, get legit and break the cycle people! Come on...this is easy!
Cyclical poverty is a social/cultural thing that's tough to get over. It affects people of all racial groups - like underclass whites who come from families that have been poor and underachieving for 300+ years
In general, it's difficult to be different from your family and all of your peers. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
When the kids are born with drugs in their system and their diet, lifestyle, environment is bad they have no chance and, although nobody likes to talk about it, there are many branches of family out there that basically don't have much going on upstairs due to the inherited mental disabilities that each generation pass on and perpetuates. And it never stops.
Genetics, you can't get away from it now matter how progressive you are.

Impoverished ghettos are perpetuated by the wealthy establishment to provide an example of what can happen if a person does not do what the system mandates. Once established the ghettoized poor population learns how to be poor and have very few expectations. The kids are never effectively taught how to excel despite the pressures from friends and family to remain just like them. The best bet for a talented ambitious kid to be adopted or marry out of that repressive culture and never look back.
Black folk want to fix their own problems with white folks money. They do not want your advice or leadership or KSAs. Just the Benjamins. So stop fixating.

Marrying out of your social class is not completely impossible, but it is not an easy task.
Most people will stay within their parents' social class. Exception is not the norm. So it is kind of hard for any "types" to break the cycle.

The BIGGEST problem in the black ghetto community is the lack of focus on marriage and 2 parent households.
Period.
There's no stigma in the hood to be 16 and get pregnant, go on welfare, get pregnant again at 17 by a different man, then have your 3 child by 19 from a third man, with the idea of marriage never crossing your mind.
That there, my friends, is public enemy #1 in the black community.

When discussing cyclical poverty, it's actually more relevant to talk about the white underclass than the black underclass because it is much larger and older. Typically, all are on public assistance, come from families where no one has ever finished high school and much less college, fall into drugs, violence and criminality, and have lived in this miserable existence generation after generation since colonial times.
Poor whites in states like West Virginia are the poster children of cyclical poverty. Especially considering that there is no historical reason for them to be the way that they are. The most one could argue is that they disproportionately descend from indentured servants in colonial America.
At least with poor blacks, there's a legitimate reason/cause since they were legally excluded from everything until the 1960s.
