I too am a white American male, but something all too many fellow older American white males don't seem to understand is that America is not a country of "we the American white males." America is a country of "we the people."
Though we are of course used to seeing ourselves running everything, from large American corporations to the banks to the schools and government (and of course we still are for the most part), over time, as America continues to be the country she has always been in this respect, the demographics of America have changed, are still changing, always will be changing. Of course we can still be very confused about all this, confounded about this domestic or foreign policy that seems to allow even more demographic change. After all, we still see a large majority of white males in Congress even though half of Americans -- no matter what their background -- are women.
Fact is, however, the Constitution does not provide even one article or guideline with respect to maintaining any demographic whatsoever, only a government to serve "we the people." What that means, to the awful chagrin of those who don't much care for people different than they are, who don't much care for change, America is changing its complexion to one that isn't so dominated by the whims and wants of the American white male.
The times they are a changing. For better or worse? Well that depends on who you are, what you are, and how old you are...
The problems are changing too. Are the problems more than before or worse than before? Well that depends on the same thing...
For all us Americans, no matter who we are, the answers are "blowing in the wind."
Used to vote GOP for decades, when I just didn't pay that much attention to politics. Then I finally woke up to what the Pubs were doing and I've voted against them ever since.
Just call me "anti-stupid" in terms of politics. I'm not a fan of the Dems, but at least they aren't becoming a US version of the Taliban.

We the people refers to the citizens of the US. Our government is here for us citizens as its primary role. One can argue that open borders or mass immigration without enough assimilation could be harmful to most US citizens while helping elite business owners and elite politicians.
Historically speaking, many liberals thought along these lines.

Saying the GOP is legitimately comparable to the Taliban, reminds me of the tools who compare Hillary quotes to those of Hitler.
It's frivolous to make an argument against one party and not the other. Neither party is innocent when it comes to pandering to demographics, with no real vested interest(s) to benefit those who they claim to serve.
