I believe we're here because of a lucky strike that happened eons ago. Science offers me more to believe in than religion. It's not perfect, but then again, neither am I.

Don't forget your barf-bag. The elections are getting pretty sickening.

Okay, that didn't make sense.

Must have been a very, very lucky strike to form all that it did. The human circulatory system should be enough to convince you that there must have been a creator.

Neither the Argument from Complexity nor the Argument from Design holds any actual water. An Argument from Personal Incredulity even less so...

This is one of the more coherent posts I've read. I fail to see, though why you have to choose between science and religion. (I'm not familiar with ALL religions, of course). But I see no conflict, anymore than I see between architects and bricklayers. They both work 'different sides of the street', IMO. I believe God "made stuff", and scientists explain how it works...no conflict there, IMO.

I was going to make a post, but this discussion has just turned into a sermon (which is what I think the original intent was anyway).

If God is displeased with the US government, that would speak rather poorly of George W. Bush, head of the government, and a man who claims to be a dedicated servant of God.

He does make such claims, you are quite correct. He ALSO has a reputation among friends AND enemies alike, as a man who "can't be swayed" and "doesn't take advice".....so, if God called, would He get through?....
