Is God pleased with the US government?
I believe that the true purpose of human life is to follow the Lord and do his will. I think that this country was founded on those Christian values but they are no where to be found today. Do you think the US government is being led by God or Satan?

Well, who cares what religion this country was founded on, the constitution strictly prohibts us from mixing religion and state affairs, so GOD (whoever he may be based on your religion) is going to have to butt out of this one, unless he gets the congress to write an amendment on his opinion!!!
-Maybe he/she/it can contact Sting and the Police and put a "Message in a Bottle" or Perhaps he can just talk to GW and let him know what he thinks, since they have personal conversation on a regular basis

This is what I mean. There is only one God. It doesn't matter which religion you claim or who you worship, God doesn't change. Jesus was the son of God and lived on earth at one point. The people who founded this country believed that. But now, the people in control of this country feel just like you stated that God should not be in any decision that affects this country. That is why this country and the entire world will continue to sink further down.

I believe you are entitled to your own beliefs. I, however do not believe that the U.S. Government is ruled by anyone other than elected officials (regardless of what I may personally think of them) (Well, maybe by the special interests that stuff their pockets. And every one of us belongs to at least one special interest group)

I don't believe in a "GOD" per se, have more of a buddhist approach to spiritual matters and think we are all parts of one energy.
I think the Greed and Selfishness are getting worse and taking over the world of politics, IMO, no one seems to be looking out for the common people anymore on the higher levels in government, they are looking out for all the special interest groups that made large campaign contributions. We all get a lot of lip service before the elections, but what they say and do is a different story.
In any case, everything seems to revolve around money anymore, I think it replaced "God" , a while ago... and yes, on both sides of the fence.

The thing I've noticed over the years concerning folks who think some diety is watching over them is that their god always agrees with their personal point of view.
Strange coincidence?

Actually, no it wasn't founded on Christian ideology or values. The Founding Fathers were deists and only believed in a creator but didn't follow a certain religion. Christians just happened to be the first religious group to inhabit America, which made it Christian majority and has remained that way to this day. That's why there is separation of church and state. The Founding Fathers did not favor any one religion.
