To me, the most disturbing part of this, is the great number of people that continue to believe in this debunked, end-of-time, apocalyptic secular cult. There are a great number of people like Al Gore and Obama, that use it as a tool to increase their political power, and push their leftist ideology.

The direction hurricanes take can also depend on the Azores High. The larger it gets, the more likely they are to steer towards the US coast.

I think coastal communities that are wiped out by Hurricanes or similar events should only be able to collect National Flood Insurance ONCE. That way we do not have to pay for the foolishness of rebuilding when you know the place can be destroyed.

Weather is so sensitive to initial conditions that forecasting remains interesting and always will.

Interesting, so now hurricanes are an "apocalyptic secular cult" people are blaming on Obama.

We're certainly reaching new heights of absurdity here.

This is true and you should tell Obama to quit blaming AGW for forest fires, etc.

Yes. Just like in Gore's movie.

But not to worry. Gore made his millions so he doesn't care that his movie is a hoax.

It depends on the definition of a hurricane, Irene and Sandy didn't meet the threshold but I would say around 80 Billion in damages is significant. Also Mexico had a Cat 5 and others, why so selective and limiting to the US, what about the Pacific,
