Grammar notwithstanding, I love threads like this one.

Who has to go out of their way so that some same sex couple can have a decent life too? How do you have to go out of your way for them? Do you have to wash their dishes or something? Cut their grass?

Next up: non-whites are a small percentage of our population, so why should we give them any civil rights, either? Bigoted idiocy is the flavor of the day, apparently...

What types of "inconveniences" are we facing from giving the LGBT civil rights and respect? Did you get stuck in traffic behind a GAY wedding procession and feel that a straight one would have moved along faster? Are you worried that the person in the next stall might not be manly enough for the men's room or feminine enough for the lady's room - and if so, have you considered how seriously messed up it is to be worrying about that? Or, are you under the mistaken impression that a state allowing gay weddings means you're going to somehow be forced into a gay wedding or that "the gay" is contagious and one day you're going to wake up in arse-less leather chaps next to a huge, hairy guy in bed and like it?

It is utterly appalling in this day and age that anyone - even people on political forums - are still wondering why minorities should have civil rights and be treated as equals. It is even more laughable when we're to believe that giving them civil rights somehow "changes everything" and "inconveniences us all." Come on... we all know what this is about - some stupid misapplication of religion texts or a dopey belief that "the way things were" is always better than the way they are now - provided we're only talking about abusing LGBT people, not about science, medicine, or anything else. Whatever.

You think that because the media vastly over-represents gays. Every study I have seen has gays in the 1-4% range, usually closer to 2%.

Any girl/woman who sees a male in their facilities. Their calls for help used to be heeded before LGBTs were exploited by sexual predators.

Who prevents male sexual predator males from pretending to be "transgender" to victimize girls/women now?

Recognize the problem, yet?

There have been no incidents of transgender people arrested for making trouble in restrooms.

There have, however, been at least 3 cases of "family values" regressive Republicans arrested for bathroom adventures:

More GOP politicians have been arrested for sexual misconduct in bathrooms than trans people – DeadState

Technically, that pedo-perv Hastert should be added to the list, unless we really want to make minor distinctions between "bathroom" and "locker room," but I think we all get the idea. Based on the evidence, we should be more worried about passing laws keeping conservatives out of restrooms than transgender people.

It doesn't soothe my fears after reading about what happened in Toronto:

Female college students videoed in the shower by male students.

Women sexually assaulted in women's shelters by a man "claiming" to be "transgender."

Yes. Under H.B. 2, the most likely scenario is that transgendered persons will be harassed and victimized. Do I have to create a scenario due to your lack of imagination?

The risk of getting struck by lightning is higher that being assaulted in a restroom by a man claiming to identify as a woman.
