Apologized or not apologized.

That $313 ,804 is waste of money.

I'm curious as to whether or not the op ever cared about the cost of various trips, appearances or speeches made abroad by President Bush during his administration or is he guilty of using a double standard?
By the way, the "apology tour" thing is a tired old knee jerk right wing talking point propagated & propelled forward by the gigantic rw media empire, by the way.

There was no apology, and there will always be costs when presidents travel, and they WILL travel. Travelling is one of the obligation which come with the job.

It is petty to complain about the travel costs of a president.

Oh come on. Obama should have been innovated and abolished presidential travel and did everything via FaceTime or Google Hangouts. Who does he think he is going on presidential trips?

FWIW, this was for a diplomatic event - the G7 summit of which the US is a part of every year basically since its inception over 40 years ago.

IMO that cost is actually pretty cheap considering the security, chartered flight, and accommodations needed for an executive. The president is an executive and so the expense is warranted for his protection and adequate accommodations.

I think people look at a total amount and don't realize that these are actually necessary expenses in the running of a country. As much as many don't like it we actually are considered a world leader and cannot be isolationists in regards to this sort of convention in particular where global issues are discussed/debated.

He didn't apologize. He acknowledged the terrible carnage that a nuclear bomb can wreak upon a city and a people, and expressed the hope that we can move forward without ever using one again.

Oh, the horror!

I have suggested, repeatedly, that if the right wing objects to the travel and vacations of the POTUS, they should take it up with the Congress and the supremes. Every organization has rules for travel and benefits. But, that would give them one less thing to pizz and moan about.

IMO! the POTUS is always on the clock.

Let's see how bothered they get when their savior Donald is POTUS.
