In part, it is a matter of personal preference.

No the Dutch were FORCED to by being driven out by the Japanese.

The Indians were not some pure and peace loving group no matter what you may have been taught.

They killed and wiped out each other with it seems a joyous abandon.

They did the same to the Europeans who arrived here.

More like the typical 'I know better than you' person who seems to not be able to stay out of others business.

The Dutch weren't drive out of all their colonies by the Japanese, and they have attempted to make amends.

Kind of a racist justification for genocide.

Wrong, after WWII the Dutch got Indonesia back, they even fought a short war over it with the Indonesians.
And it was on the 27th of December that the Dutch finally recognised the independence of Indonesia.

Amends, after hundreds of years of looting a place they say 'sorry', well that would make the subjugated people feel better.

Please explain more fully how my statement was racist in any way(by the way, throwing out the 'racist' boogeyman doesn't work with me...)

You seem to lump Indians into one enormous homogenous group, you are wrong in this ASSumption.
