individual citizens are not part of the general public, whom the police are there for.
your locks and alarm system can both be overcome, and if they are you will be in a big bind when the crooks come knocking.
But they do and promptly too. Here I am in the middle of the big bad crime infested city with no guns and not a care in the world. LOL

Sorry to disappoint but - the whole country does not revolve around YOU - DC is not even the "real world" - and, you have no concept of the "real" world.

they do not, the supreme court has ruled on a case stating the police do NOT have to protect you or your family, they also stated that said police are protected from personal lawsuit by a family that was harmed by the inaction of the police officer.

Court Says No Protection Required

Reality doesn't matter to people like Mr Church, he has never needed a gun so nobody should have one. I'm amazed he even believes in crime & poverty.

Given that the original unamended Constitution granted the government no authority whatsoever over arms or religion, I don't see why the First and Second Amendments were even necessary or why we should care much about what they mean. The lawmakers clearly didn't want the federal government to have any jurisdiction whatsoever regarding arms or religion. The only question is whether we interpret those denials of power broadly or narrowly.
