I find the bolded to be interesting. Does this mean if anyone ever seeks treatment for substance abuse he or she is giving up their second amendment rights?

A few months earlier, a friend’s life is dissolving into alcoholism and divorce. I try to just listen — no point putting in my two cents anymore. Bewailing his fate, he mentions that his soon-to-be ex-wife is insisting he hand his guns over to a neighbor for safekeeping.

This is now illegal in Oregon. Handing guns over to a neighbor for safekeeping in Oregon now requires a visit to a licensed dealer for a $$$ background check.

Guns are certainly easier to buy than vegetables in food deserts.

Well who wants to open a grocery store in the hood, only to have it looted and burned to the ground every time some hood rat felon with an illegal gun decides to play chicken with the cops.

Sometimes people reap what they've sown.

Scratch that. In his own words:

STEINBERG: Would-be terrorists can buy guns, but a reporter? No. | Chicago Sun-Times

Maybe it would have been better for the OP to post the detailed article by the reporter instead of the Guns&Ammo News LOL.

I don't see where that alcohol use is restricted and according to the article the gun store claimed he was charged with domestic violence. Neither is grounds for denying a purchase on Form 4473, maybe they should be to err on the side of caution.

That is exactly what the dealer did, err on the side of caution.
