I noticed youtube now has a rainbow on the homepage. Just thought I would share it. I can just picture some little kid playing on the ipad and looking at the rainbow, wow that looks nice, *click*

Maybe not a wise move on YouTube's part. While I and most people are live and let live, there are many who are not. This could be used as a propaganda tool to show how "depraved" the west is when it's just a small minority of people.
I've never had an issue with LGBTQ people and I consider several as good friends. But a lot of people do not like this attitude lately by a lot of tech companies such as Google/Youtube/Facebook/Twitter to lecture all of us about being tolerant. Who are they directing this to? I wonder if it's on the front page of the Arab versions of Youtube. Probably not!
It's like the people who stick the "coexist" bumper stickers on their SUVs that they use to drive back and forth between home and the Whole Foods. Do they think Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is there getting his daily glutten-free Buckwheat smoothie?
they're showing solidarity with the LGBT community. whoever is offended by this can go scratch.
That's the point... it's a feel good video that mainly preaches to the choir. This is not going to change the minds of people in cultures who would have them arrested or worse. These promotions don't just stay in a safe bubble.

Also, parents shouldn't just let their kids go all willy nilly on youtube all the time anyway. There is way more inappropriate stuff on youtube versus this video.

yes, that does seem to be contradictory. the militant left has a habit of showing just how intolerant they really are. they seem to only be open minded if one agrees with them.
