He was a convicted drug dealer, sex offender and felon, and was illegally packing a piece while trying to resist arrest by the law. What were they supposed to do? Read him his rights while he shot them both?

Not really but it doesn't matter now. The perp is dead and the cops will get off.

Yeah, he was all of that and none of us are defending on what crimes he did in the past. But you would think they'd try and knock the gun out of his hand ... instead they pumped several bullets in him at close range. Oh well.

You can shoot a handgun while standing on your head if you have to. If even one arm was free it's all it takes. If I was one of those cops and this guy was trying to grab the gun I'd have shot too.

I saw the cops try to subdue him with verbal commands, a taser and getting on top of him.

If, I repeat if, he was still trying to get the gun, he essentially committed suicide.

Sad but he should have watched Chris Rock's video...if you don't want trouble with the Polise, obey the law and don't try to pull your gun to shoot a cop unless you're willing to take a bullet yourself.

My problem is this. Both of the officers had body cams and both cams "fell off."

I don't understand why people don't follow police's instructions?

So, it appears the department needs to have better mounts that will survive physical conflicts.

Are you implying the officers removed them? If so, how did you reach this conclusion?

That's very suspicious plus reports that the cops confiscated CCTV footage from the store without warrant makes it even more like a cover up.
