So where are all the "great Fox talent" that was going to walk out if Ailes was fired? If that was even true, Murdoch came out and said, "I bet you won't". And like the little weasels they are, they didn't say a damn thing.

There is a thing called "Contracts". I'll bet they all have them.

There was a thread here about how all the Fox big names weren't going to care about that - - they were going to have some 7th grade walkout because the cool social studies teacher was fired. Shocker - - it didn't materialize.
Where would O'Reilly, Hannity and others go? Did they plan on going over to MSNBC and CNN? There were no viable options but to stick with FOX. Those guys just have no problem supporting the sexual harasser. O'Reilly the wife beater has his supporters too.
<<Mr. Ailes was not there. Mr. Murdoch had barred him from the building starting on Wednesday, according to one person briefed on the matter. The person said Fox News’s parent company, 21st Century Fox, had learned Mr. Ailes was trying to get some of his on-air stars to criticize those who cooperated with investigators looking into accusations of sexual harassment against him.>>
And this, at one time Megyn Kelly had retained a lawyer and reportedly 10 women charged Ailes with inappropriate conduct while Fox News employees.
<<
Ms. Kelly told investigators that she received repeated, unwanted advances from Mr. Ailes, which she rejected, according to two people briefed on her account. The entreaties, which happened in the early part of her career at Fox, bothered Ms. Kelly to the point that she retained a lawyer because she worried that her rejections would jeopardize her job, though they ultimately did not.
In a statement earlier this week, Mr. Ailes’s lawyer said he never sexually harassed Ms. Kelly. During the investigation, led by the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, around 10 women have come forward with stories of inappropriate conduct from Mr. Ailes while at Fox News, according to a person briefed on the investigation.>>
Fox News allegedly "fired and silenced" another female reporter
This alleged solicitation of a sexual favor took place in 2006, when Ailes was still in charge.
This is a pretty sordid and detailed painting of the exploitation of female staff at Fox News. This is one of the more minor accusations in the story:
<<When she returned from reporting in Tehran, where she covered the summit meeting between then-Iranian President Ahmadinejad and then Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Kamil al-Maliki, she began appearing on Fox & Friends and serving as a general assignment correspondent. That’s when the pressure from management to conform to Fox’s hypersexualized aesthetic began. “I would never wear skirts at work. One day they rolled in a bunch of skirts for me and said, ‘These are a gift from Roger Ailes.’ They were all miniskirts,” Bakhtiar recalled. “I said, ‘Are you forcing me to wear skirts?’ and they said, ‘No, we’re just suggesting. Roger really likes it. And you’ve got nice legs. Why aren’t you wearing skirts?’” After several weeks, Bakhtiar told Fox’s programming head, Bill Shine, that she did not want to appear on Fox & Friends anymore.>>
The Murdochs must fear some tales that Ailes could tell as he has been left such a gracious exit, with no comment by the Murdochs regarding the treatment of attractive female staffers on his watch.
It also sounds as the Murdochs will do little to change the environment at Fox News.
Congress needs to pass a law barring gag orders regarding anything but confidential information such as trade secrets in employment contracts. It's ridiculous that we tolerate the legal silencing of victims, or even employees who are otherwise bothered by compromised ethics at corporations.
