There is a big gap between civilian culture and police culture, just like there is a big gap between Military culture and civilian culture.

Mutual respect and trust should be re-established.

Like I posted earlier, social media should do their job, for example, people need some positive stories of good police officers. My Hispanic good friend police officer Carlos once said, "unfortunately, police officers DO subconsciously use racial profiling, and this is not a white problem." He thinks maybe Hispanic officers should police Hispanic areas, black officers should police black areas. Re-establishing trust and respect, at the same time, address the issue of Militarization of police. After all, our neighborhoods are not war zones. Our citizens are not savage terrorists.

Like it or not, we (white, black, yellow, brown, purple, rainbow) are all in this together.
Good post. Two of my good friends are cops, and I'm thinking about them more than ever.

I'm hearing on the radio that Johnson's anger was also towards BLM. And that the Dallas BLM chapter and the DPD had a great working relationship together, especially tonight.

I used to think that way. Last night-and Orlando-would lead me to believe you to be incorrect. After seeing some of these savages, and the amount of human garbage that support them on social media, let alone the animals that burned Baltimore and Ferguson, I support giving the police whatever tools they need to have a decent chance to come home safe. MRAPs are a start, as are whatever firepower they require. Bomb-delivering robot was a neat trick, glad it worked so well.

This is getting way out of hand.
It's more than those .......
2 in Georgia - Cop was ambushed due a 911 call and Cop was shot at a traffic stop
1 in St Louis area - Cop shot at a traffic stop
4 in Tennessee - Killer shot through the glass at a Days Inn, hit the desk clerk and then turned and started firing at cars. A Cop was shot. He said it was because he was mad about the shooting in Minnesota/Louisiana The Tennessee shooting happened yesterday ...... the AP didn't report it until today. Sounds like the shooter might be a Black Muslim (shhhh)

That's a massive number of Law Enfacement Shot/Murdered in a 24 hour period.

What is your choice?
I honestly have no idea. I'm asking, I don't have an agenda. Seriously, and I don't mean this as a slam on guns - if one guy can wreak such havoc on armed and trained LE professionals, outnumbered and alone, then what chance does anyone have in a school or a movie theater? It proves that arms are not the answer.

But you know I wasn't just talking about the cop killings. As horrifying as that was, this has been going on for eons. This is what, the second mass shooting in 4 weeks? Have I forgotten one?

Not the answer to what?
A well executed ambush has been effective since the dawn of time. This is not new information that should cause a change in thinking. If someone did not know that fact before this incident, then they may not have a leg to stand on while discussing something like this.

I absolutely agree with this statement ..... BUT, here is the problem.
It apparently IS "reasonable and rational" to blame all Law Enforcement for a killing in Minnesota & a killing in Louisiana. The shooter in Tennessee and the shooter in Dallas BOTH said they killed because of the shootings in Minnesota & Louisiana. Twitter/Facebook are both justifying these Cop Killings and even calling for more.

How do we stop all of this?

You are headed in the wrong direction, MRAPs are not solving this problem just escalating.
