One word... CHANGE. That was Obama's slogan eight years ago. Do we really want more of this?
Next time a politician has a vague slogan - can we clarify the terms? Who thought we would change into where we are today...
Police violence is not higher than it's been in the past, nor are minorities any more likely to be on the receiving end of said violence than white people. Terror attacks by jihadists are still incredibly uncommon in the US. Those viruses barely have impacted the US, and odds are, if and when they do, we'll handle it just fine. It's true that economic inequality is growing, however, actual rates of poverty, to my knowledge, haven't changed much.
There are 11 million illegal immigrants in the US, which is a lot, but there are 330 million people in the US, so to say we're overrun feels like hyperbole to me. I've also not heard that border patrol has been told to not follow the law, but if that is true, that's certainly disappointing. Yes, the debt is high. Yes, we're very involved overseas (this isn't new at all though). Is there really more government control now than a few years ago?
Most of our problems are small. Let's keep in mind, things have been WAY worse, and I'm not talking about Bush. There are times in US history, like basically everything prior to the 1900s, than makes Bush era economies look like a freaking paradise for gods. Sensationalizing the problems doesn't make the problems worse, but it does create a separate problem.
