Are there any clips of the owner speaking? I'd be curious to hear his command of the English language.

If it was a misunderstanding, what are they claiming they intended to say to the cops? Something doesn't add up.

Makes one wonder just who he was trying to please. Another reason to learn to speak and talk English.....helps one to understand why refusing to serve others, certainly law enforcement, could end your business.

According to the video, it started when an employee noticed some customers knocking over their soup and water and the employee wondered if the customers were upset by the deputies being in the restaurant.

Why would a restaurant owner choose to placate obnoxious customers? They quickly realized their error and cried crocodile tears.

Supposedly it was a misunderstanding due to a language barrier, but it seems pretty clear that the owner did ask the LEOs not to return.

What do y'all think?
Well the owners aren't even Americans. I think that is the real rub. They live here, make money here, and can't even be bothered to learn proper English.

We have enough tension right now in this country, we don't need foreigners pulling this nonsense.

I never would set foot in the place again.

Damn straight and I'd go to yelp and ask everyone I know to give them the harshest reviews possible. I don't care if that isn't "fair" to them.

Since when Teriyaki is Chinese food?

Seriously?

The owner said they feel terrible about the misunderstanding, and are inviting members of law enforcement to eat at the restaurant for free on Monday, July 18.

According to the owner's son, Xuechuang Li, his father has been receiving death threats after the sheriff's post went viral Thursday afternoon.

This whole thing is sad and hilarious at the same time.

It is more likely that he feels terrible about losing money once it became clear that the community did not share his hatred of law enforcement.

There was no misunderstanding. He stated his position clearly not once but twice. He had an opportunity to clear up any "misunderstanding" when he was contacted for clarification after he told the officers they were not welcome there. Instead of sorting out any "misunderstanding," he confirmed his original statement that law enforcement was not welcome.

Now he seems to think the community is too stupid or too soft-hearted or too "forgiving" to understand that there was no misunderstanding. He might be surprised that Americans are not as stupid as he wants to believe they are.

My brother has a BBQ restaurant run by veterans. Veterans and police officers are great customers. The owner is.. well.... he probably did not think very clearly.

Hope they somehow resolve this issue, I hope this is just a misunderstanding.

Mebbie the soup spillers should have been the ones to be asked to leave.
