European police have trained dogs to smell cash (in quantities of over 40 banknotes). Capital controls have been in place to prevent people from moving cash out of countries like Italy and Greece and depositing them in Switzerland. In particular Greece has seen some €40 billion leave the country as fears compound that the country may be forced to leave the Eurozone.

The number is shockingly high since the value of all the Greek drachma banknotes in the year 2000 was less than €9 billion.

There is a movement to abolish the $100.00 bill here in the land of the free, to supposedly make it tougher on criminals.
I see it as making it easier on the govt. criminals who think they're entitled to a piece of everything we buy and sell.
