Lots of spirituality and kindness NOT here. More hatred than anything as I see it.

Illegal aliens can't join our military no should they be allowed to. Where is your Christianity, love, kindness and compassion for the victims of illegal aliens aka the rightful citizens of our country? Why do you hate them? Hypocricy, much?

Take a look at any construction site today. I've been on construction sites for 25 plus years and I've seen tons and tons of what used to be good paying jobs go to Latinos, I don't know how many were/are illegal but common sense tells us that a huge influx of people that they all can't be legal.

These people are taking jobs that used to pay decently, they've driven down wages and took jobs from Americans. Painters, drywallers, flooring, carpenters, even some of the more skilled trades such as electricians have seen an influx of people taking those jobs too.

Latinos tend to have large families and the infrastructure can't handle too many people. If you're making 12 bucks and hour and have 3 or 4 kids in the system you aren't paying enough into the system via taxes, definitely not a net sum zero situation here.

California is especially suffering, too many illegals here. I know that isn't a pleasant sounding thing to say or ever hear, but it's the truth.

We need controlled immigration.

I doubt that the OP gives a damn about any of the above which is the absolute truth by the way. I'd sure like to know what his horse in this race is. I have my suspicions though.

And it's not just Mexicans, we have many from Viet Nam. What a mess we did over there. They are Happy to be here.

We paid Mexico $15 million for some southwest territories and forgave them many debts. They signed a treaty with us after the war. It's a done deal so why whine about it now? Those people involved are all dead now anyway. Are you confused? Spain isn't Mexico and Mexico isn't Spain.

None of what you have said negates our right as a nation to have immigration laws today.

jaminhealth... you know, if there were a small number of them here, it probably would not be a big deal.

But at some point, the number becomes too large, and it becomes a problem.

You have mentioned that they keep the price of goods down. Actually it's backwards... why is the price too high - why does it cost so much to employ Americans - to the point that it is now advantageous to hire illegals? We raise the minimum wage, and hire a bunch of cheap illegal labor under the table. What's really the problem here?

The problem is NOT us.

I assume everyone is here legally because it's not my job to check them out. I treat anyone who works for a living with respect. If I find out they are breaking the law that is something completely different. To me there is no difference between stealing and being here illegally. They are stealing services and not paying their taxes. We have to either sign them up legally so they can pay or we have to get them OUT.

Our landscaper/gardner works around our bldg twice a week and does me favors and I will give him a little cash now and then, which he refuses but I push it in his pocket. He is the best person and never a complaint.

Then, just talking to my neighbor who has to be in a rehab facility now going on a month as she fell and broke her shoulder. Who do you think works around the clock in those facilities, people from so many parts of the world...doing so much dirty work that WE do not want to do. Cleaning up s**t, changing adult diapers, helping people walk....You want to do this kind of work?

Then there are a ones who are hired to clean houes, clean toilets, take care of children.

Stop and think about this all you spoiled americans and STOP the bashing. Be thankful when you spend your unemployment and welfare checks and spend your food stamps.
wow, pretty judgemental statement about others.
So all these people that are doing these jobs, some of whom you hired are probably being well underpaid by people like yourself. Why don't you pay them a higher wage, or do you think they aren't worthy of it?

So your gardner does you favors and every once in a while you give him a little cash that you force in his pocket. How generous of you.
If anything while you may not bash them on the internet, you have no problem using them to your advantage?

You're right, and they do not keep the price of goods down when you factor in their social costs that their cheap, greedy employers pass on to we the taxpayer. Their greedy employers just pocket the profits from their cheap, illegal workers while the American worker/taxpayer/consumer gets the shaft.

I love those people you speak of....IF THEY ARE HERE LEGALLY. If they are not, then I want them gone yesterday. (I have this odd affinity for the rule of law!)
Oh, and my spouse is not American. And I have done every kind of back breaking farm work you can think of, starting at 12 years old (my back carries the memories). And I am a social worker.
Sorry to break your template.

I've noticed that illegal immigrants LOVE them some child molestation. Sure Americans abuse kids too, but the illegals really seem to have a stronger penchant for it. At least that's how it is in these parts.

As far as all of those jobs, Americans won't do that work... at the same wage as the illegals. If the illegals disappeared, wages would rise and Americans would be enticed to do the work.
