"City workers on Monday removed the red, white, and blue banner - which has the Confederate flag in the top left corner - from a lighting standard near Passyunk Avenue after dozens of protesters and some local residents asked for it to be taken down, city officials said."

Mississippi flag won't fly in Philly

Broad Street in South Philly has always displayed all the US state flags. I guess some people/protestors don't like the Mississippi flag.

Good. I don't like Mississippi's flag either. I have nothing but contempt for all things related to the Confederacy.

I lived in Mississippi for a year working on a government contract for the Air Force. It's where I learned about how much light and dark skinned black people dislike each other. Good food. The rebuilding process where I was, Biloxi, was booming by the time I was there...2008. Since Biloxi is kind of touristy with Casinos and other attractions, it built up pretty quickly after Katrina.

Interesting place, I like the people and the history of it.
