Normandy, Istanbul, Dhaka, Nice, Baghdad, Orlando: WHY? - CNN.com

"ISIS is not itself the problem"

Then he goes on to blame Europeans.

Anyone who actually watches CNN as a credible news source needs their head examined.

Amazing that it doesn't occur to this guy that the Muslim's problems in Europe (and everywhere else) is that they won't assimilate. If they want to fit into German or French society they need to adopt German or French culture.

What about the sacred cow called diversity? Assimilation = xenophobia

It doesn't matter what CNN says. The people who live in Europe, especially France and German, watch their own news channels. In France a police officer refuse to shake hands with the President of France after the police couple were murdered by Muslim terrorist. You can't put a spin to news if you live in the country that is being ravaged by terrorism like France and Germany. If the terrorism continues in France and German, then anti immigration policies will be passed eventually. The current political parties are already starting to consider limiting immigration due to public pressure and the possibility of major win by right wing parties. How is CNN going to spin things if anti immigration legislation is passed in Europe due to increase terrorism by Muslim immigrants?

I personally, don't see the point in putting a spin to foreign news. CNN has no influence in Europe. I suppose if the major powers in Europe start passing anti immigration policies that result in reduction or elimination of terrorism, then that might force foreign countries including the United States to rethink it's own immigration policy. Politicians could point to Europe as an example that works, which in turn would destroy the platform of the Democrat Party for open boarders. The people who live in German and France will only take so many terrorist attacks before they turn on the political parties that favor open immigration. Each new attack strengths the right parties not just in Europe, but in the United States as well.

It was a opinion piece of the person, not a CNN news story. Understanding the difference is essential.

He laid out his opinion.

Are each of his 5 points true or false?

Did CNN not post this garbage? Does CNN not hire this buffoon? Did they not pay for and post this article?

Only one of them is true and relevant: #3

Islamist in Europe refuse to assimilate. So #5 is out the window.

Blaming a nationalist attitude is absolutely ridiculous, so #4 is out the window.

#1 and #2 are a true facts, but to blame it in itself on terrorist attacks is absolutely ridiculous.

#3 is hilarious, because CNN supports the migration of Syrians, yet they blame the terrorist attacks on the same migrations.

The list should have blamed two things: radical Islamism and open door immigration policies.

It's obvious that CNN has an agenda, and one that doesn't jive well with western ideals. Please don't be naive and actually fall for their propaganda.

A "opinion piece" is like a newspaper editorial. It affirms the publisher's views while it maintains some minimal deniability that the views are entirely those of the publisher.

I agree with the title.
It's because of Europeans.
They should have kept Muslims out of Europe so yes, blame goes to Europeans.

He is trying to analyze why ISIS exists, and offers five points to explain it. I have seen worse analyses, like "they hate our freedoms". There is a reason why sunnis kill shias and vice verse.

I will hereby retort this tribal Ziocon disinfo agent, Peter Bergen:

1. "The first major problem is the regional civil war in the Middle East between the Sunni and the Shia that engulfed first Iraq, then Syria and now".

WRONG.
Collapses of Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, and other places have nothing to do with a
fictional "civil war", it's all about US/NATO/Israel/Gulf monarchies intervention and destruction to the legitimate
authorities, authorities which the US/NATO/Israel/Gulf monarchies destroyed.

2. "A major problem is the collapse of Arab governance around the region."

NO S. Sherlock ! see above. I'm sure you were for the Iraq invasion and Syrian rebels,
right Peter Bergen ? yeah, thought so...

3. "As result of the first two problems, there are unprecedented waves of immigration from the Muslim world flooding into the West, in particular to Europe."

WRONG.
The waves of immigrants are coming from all areas, not just the war zones. They are coming
because the EU's super-government forced its people to accept them, and pay for them,
and encourage them to come. Without the extremely attractive policies, they would have stayed.

4. Massive immigration from the Muslim world into Europe has amplified a fourth problem, which is the rise of European ultranationalist and protofascist parties.

WRONG.
Typical Ziocon technique. Blame the group you hate for creating the problem YOU created.
100% lies. The people of Europe who are invaded and killed have every right in the world
to band together to stop the madness. UKIP and National Front did not bring in the immigrants,
Peter Bergen. You know this, but blame them, because you fear they will gain power.

5. Muslims in Europe live largely separate and unequal lives.

IRRELEVANT and UNTRUE.
Separate lives ? Is that why they are walking and driving around murdering innocent people ?
Unequal ? Is that why there is Sharia Law in England and a Muslim Mayor of London ?
How much free housing, free education, job placement, free food and free medical will make them happy, Peter ? How much ? Did the USA just try this by electing a black president, did that make blacks happy, Peter ? Why do you have your job, Peter ? oh, yes... you're a member of the ineffable tribe.. sorry, I forgot.
