ISTANBUL — The Turkish government ordered the closing of more than 100 media outlets on Wednesday, including newspapers, publishing companies and television channels, as part of a sweeping crackdown following a failed military coup this month.

The Turkish authorities ordered the shutdown of 45 newspapers, three news agencies, 16 television channels, 15 magazines and 29 publishers in a decree that was published in the government’s official gazette on Wednesday.

Day by Day Turkey is becoming more and more a Dictatorship. Why couldn't the coup just work?

Because it was all just a ruse to allow Erdogan to crack down and consolidate power?

Thats what I am assuming.. It a was all a stunt to consolidate the power and control of the country more... Similar to Hitler burning down the reichstag to gain more power of Germany...

The west should cut off ties with that country.. It is going down the tubes fast and is nothing like it was 50 years ago
