unless the flag is deemed ILLEGAL to display on private property, they had no right to fire her.

Even as a Yankee, I personally have no problem with the Rebel flag, I'm something of a Civil War "buff" myself and have visited the battlefields and museums. I personally love the South and have family living in the South. This police officer would not have caused a problem if she kept it in her home. Flying this flag - a controversial symbol - in public view creates all kinds of problems.

In the South, it is not uncommon to see flag poles as pictured in the article flying both the American and Confederate flag.
unless there was a police policy against it, or it is illegal, there is no basis for her termination.
again, not a fan of that flag myself. But this PC crap is getting ridiculous.
I am not a fan of this flag but I don't agree with firing her. not unless the state of GA makes it illegal to display it on private property.
I did not read the article....but there is probably more to the story than that. She might have demonstrated some subtle racial bias and the flag was the straw the broke the camels back. We need to get certain types of mindsets off the police forces.

Someone drove by her house and complained to their pastor who took it up with the chief. There was nothing about racial bias, btw.
