Really? Or is it because Trump wants to pay low wages (the same thing the tech industry is accused of )?

He brings waitresses in from eastern and central Europe. You don't think he could perhaps find any people in the United States who are not druggies, criminals or mentally ill to bring to Maralago to work? Of course, he might have to pay them a decent wage, but he's the one who keeps promoting more and better paying jobs. Just as long as he doesn't have to pay them.

He doubled the membership fee from $100k to $200k this year and is offering a 1% raise to some and actually decreasing the pay to cooks.

When it gets that low, there is no one left to hire for these types of entry level, low skill jobs. Nada.........unless you want to hire substance abusers, criminals or other unstable people.
What was the Trump family's excuse when the unemployment rate was high and they were STILL hiring mostly from overseas?

Interesting.

So, the economy there has been great since BEFORE Trump got elected, huh?

What about Broward county and other adjacent counties?

Sorry, your post doesn't make sense. Please stop making stuff up.

OK........so he pays higher wages and steals the employees from his nearest competitor The Breakers. Then they cant hire people so they have to go get foreign guest workers.......whats the point. Now he has to charge more for meals and banquet fees to cover the wages or be at a competitive disadvantage with the other local businesses. That's not the way it works.

Any way you cut it at this unemployment rate people available for hire into low skill jobs is slim pickings unless you want to hire a bunch of problem employees.........and doubly so when they are seasonal positions.

Its probably smart that he raised his fees. He's losing business left and right from his charity banquet clients because they don't want to deal with the security stuff there now.

But Trump said the real unemployment number was 40%? Did he lie?

This is a lie.

It has been refuted by employment agencies in the area who say they never get job requests from Mar-a-Lago and they have plenty of cooks, stewards, wait staff, housekeepers, ... available to send over for interviews.

There are plenty of hardworking Americans who are not problem employees.

You ought to be ashamed of besmirching them with lies.

Ah, so Trump's claim during the campaign that the unemployment rate was "actually" a lot higher WAS A LIE!

Shame on you for besmirching them with lies.
Not to mention this is Florida and there are always senior citizens looking to work.

I suspect that Trump is running his business on these weekend getaways.

I also suspect that should Trump wish to communicate with foreign leaders outside of the traditional channels there are likely foreign workers in place to assist.
Agreed. I'd add that Ivanka is the conduit between Trump and his two sons.

This has been an operation to profit from the presidency since the get go.

You have been misinformed.

There are lots of low-skilled people who are honest, sober, stable, and hard working who would be great employees.

We've all read about those with college degrees working at McDonalds. People working two and three fast food, Walmart-type jobs to make ends meet.

Trump used to go on about folks who are not included in that 5% because they became discouraged and gave up looking for work.

There are a lot of retired people who would love to work seasonal jobs and travel the rest of the year.
