Sounds like the most dangerous part of cannabis is getting caught with it. Cannabis won't ruin your life, but getting caught with it WILL. Anyone who would send someone to jail/prison for a gram of cannabis IS the criminal.

He does not face a year in prison. That's the maximum possible sentence which, given the fact the pot is legal now in Oregon, he will certainly not receive. He may not be penalized at all.

He didn't get off. He was correctly convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to 6 months in jail.

Yes, but this one has it all. A minority teenage victim, caught with only a gram, and the age of the case makes it seem even more of a senseless waste of resources. I think it is a perfect choice, if they indeed have this hidden agenda.
The more I think about it, the more it make sense, just because of the sheer amount of insanity involved if they really are doing this just to be hard-assed about it.
One can't possess MJ on school grounds it is considered a federal crime......Idaho has the same law, people don't go to jail. That is the maximum for small amounts. Most likely he will have to pay a $500 fine and 50 hours community service.
Don't take pot onto federal land and your chances of being busted are reduced, certainly not school grounds.
As for the rapes, why are native Americans having these issues? The statement below, why are native Americans not taking care of this for themselves...... First they want government out of the way and in the same breathe complain about it. Cultures and their complaints.........when will it stop?

Holy cow, what a leap. This thread was just presented and has nothing to do with BLM and most who commented have condemned the actions here.
This is a fine example of domestic terrorism, inflicted by the war on drugs soldiers.
