Kaine is right on this: if you want to know what values are likely to guide a person in the White House, look at what they were doing and saying long before they entered the campaign.

What was Trump doing?

Profiting off of the EXACT same things he now suddenly decries as against American values: cheap overseas manufacturing and hiring foreign workers.

Ripping off contractors and customers whenever it suited him - small businesses who did work at his casinos and got stiffed when he exploited Chapter 11, customers who put down money on his condos that never got built, and customers who put down money for his misleading and fraudulent "Trump University."

Stiffing charities he said he'd support in magnanimous claims of philanthropy.

Exploiting God knows what other loopholes that he clearly doesn't want us to know, which is why he's hiding his tax returns (unlike every other Presidential candidate in modern history).

In other words: looking out just for himself and screwing others around him. And now you guys believe he's going to suddenly become this great champion of the little guy? What kind of crack are you on? His track record says NOTHING to support it.

I don't like Hillary all that much, and she has plenty of skeletons in her closet, but at least she has SOMETHING to show... she did push for SCHIP, and it did provide critical health coverage to kids in poor families. She did at least stand up after 9-11 and push for real benefits for the first responders. Yes, she probably lied about her incompetent mismanagement of her emails. I think her Foundation has skirted laws and been shady at times. She has her share of shadiness.

But as far as standing up for anyone and championing ANY cause outside of his own self-enrichment and aggrandizement, Trump has NOTHING to show.

That's why I don't believe him now.

The other way to look at it is, if he is so cut-throat about his business, it would be good to have him bring that shrewdness to US Government.

The bold is far worse than anything Trump did. If you know anybody that works in the scope of classified information, ask them why. Tax returns, loopholes, etc? Or national security? Which one is worse? Personal conquests by Trump, or information that puts the US (in its entirety) at risk? And let's be real; Bill and Hillary have found just as many loopholes as Trump or their net worth wouldn't be over $100mil. They just aren't as business savvy as Trump.

Trump has empoloyed tens of thousands, has given women real power in an industry that has derided women and has helped out countless people in dire straights.

His son runs a charity that has been ranked among the highest in charitable giving... .with HIS MONEY.

all this thread is, is yet another attempt to short circuit real critisim of HILLARY. remember her? one of the main leaders of a charity that gives 5% of its money to CHARITY...

There is very small amount of lawsuits that fit this category and even smaller amount that have been successful, in a business that big getting sued is common.

What Trump has said to paraphrase "I pay as little taxes as possible". Is this not what everyone in this country tries to achieve? How many people volunteer to pay more? Have you voluntarily paid more than you have too?

Exactly, you have to. You don't get to be Trump if you don't.

Trump has done nothing illegal.

Trump is within the law.

If you are not satisfied with that, then hillary, who broke no laws, though she allowed top secrect data, critical to the security of the US, to be available to foreign agents hacking her server, should be excluded as a candidate as suggested for Trump in the OP.

Little childlike minds look with naievete at the complexity of a series of million dollar businesses and conclude all is not right.

Trump was investigated by the FBI.

Hillary was for several shady business deals going back to and before Whitewater. she had the little investor in mind...then she was relying on goldman head jon corzine for advice....he recently lost his company's shirt and investor millions due to irresponsible behavior of the comapny he headed and somehow was found innocent of any charges. This is the same JC that biden said was the go to guy for Obama in matters of economics. JC is now looking into starting a hedge fund. Hillary is far more shady and abusive than trump.
