The latest nail in ObamaCare’s coffin

It will offer policies in “no more” than 11 state marketplaces, down from 19. The numbers don’t add up: Humana took nearly $1 billion in losses from the coverage this year.

This follows the exit from the exchanges of such other giants as Cigna and UnitedHealth Group, also after outsized losses.

It’s the much-feared “death spiral”: Too many older, sicker folks are resorting to ObamaCare policies, and not enough younger, healthy folks. So the average enrollee is running up higher bills than the insurers expected — and raising rates will only scare away even more lower-cost customers.

...
President Obama and Hillary Clinton both used to pooh-pooh the idea of a “public option”: Government-run health insurance that’s just a step away from European-style socialized medicine. But ObamaCare’s woes have pushed both to start suggesting it may be the only answer after all.

The only answer, that is, besides replacing ObamaCare with a truly market-based system that still helps the less fortunate, but doesn’t try to dictate everything from Washington.

If that sounds better to you, don’t vote for any Democrats this November.

" Sur-prise, sur-prise!! "
--Gomer Pyle

This is the intended plan all along.

Again - if the public option, government run health care is so great, why don't they just put it out there openly? Instead they have to trick the public with this ObamaCare crapola and funnel private insurance companies out of the market and ruin a bunch of families financially who work for these companies.

It certainly appears the Democrat's intent was to crash the best healthcare system in the world by destroying the insurance industry, creating a massive crisis and forcing the government to step in and rescue the American public from a disaster they created.

And of course Democrats will blame Republicans

History...

“I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program.” (applause) “I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”

Obama speaking to the Illinois AFL-CIO, June 30, 2003.

They also totally failed to address the issue of tort reform. A major factor in medical costs is litigation by ambulance chasers.

Center of American Progress is in on it...

Progressive leader says left is turning on Obamacare as costs soar

Even progressives are turning against Obamacare as health care costs and premiums skyrocket.

Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress, said Wednesday there was strong support for a single-payer system on the Democratic platform committee, and one reason is that progressives blame the Affordable Care Act for rising costs.

...
The push from the left for a “public option” has intensified amid the failure of two-thirds of the Obamacare web-based exchanges.

Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, advised Democrats to avoid mentioning the ACA by name on the campaign trail, and instead describe its benefits, such as preventing insurance companies from denying coverage based on preexisting conditions.

Yeah they know what's up. Don't mention it in the campaign, continue to pump it up... but the goal is single payer.

They just can't be honest about the whole process.

It always amazes me how Americans show so much concern for people in the health insurance industry. This industry exists for one reason, to make a profit. Before the ACA come in, these same people who you are so concerned about were denying care to people who tried to get coverage but could not because of a "pre-existing condition". They would deny care to people who made a bloody spelling mistake on their insurance form...it's disgusting. Why show any compassion for these people? They know what they're work entails, they know it's wrong, so why all the support?
