You are mistaken. These sorts of steps are NOT intended to "solve" any real problems.

What they are, are incremental steps to reduce the enjoyment, increase the legal and civil liabilities etc., of an activity so that over time, less and less people are involved in the activity because of all of the hurdles an pitfalls that have been, incrementally, put in place, until there is nobody left to defend that activity in the political arena. They do this most actively against activities that contribute to "self-reliance" and the ability to live without dependency on the Masters in DC and State Capitols. By the time they are done, life will be mere "existance" not worth the effort of living, and the chattel will then be slaves to the ruling masters. It is the way of the ruling class (or at least one of the ways).

Kerry is now going after AC and Refrigeration. What the hell kind of life can one live without AC and refrigeration? Not much, in today's world. You'll be reduced to a bunch of easily-enslaved drones - and that IS their end-game, pretenses not withstanding.

Please keep it up all you Leftists!
And those here on this board know who you are, and will pay dearly for pushing your gun anti-agenda.
There will be a ceremony next Spring in Washington where all the ill-conceived gun restrictions are repealed and burned in effigy.
LOL

"The upshot is that DDTC is labeling commercial gunsmiths as “manufacturers†for performing relatively simple work such as threading a barrel or fabricating a small custom part for an older firearm. Under the AECA, “manufactures†are required to register with DDTC at significant expense or risk onerous criminal penalties. "

"These requirements apply, even if the business does not, and does not intend to, export any defense article. Moreover, under ITAR, “only one occasion of manufacturing … a defense article†is necessary for a commercial entity to be considered “engaged in the business†and therefore subject to the regime’s requirements."

For example, DDTC generally labels procedures that involve cutting, drilling, or machining of an existing firearm in order to improve its accuracy or operation or to change its caliber as “manufacturing,†even if they do not create a new and distinct firearm. This includes threading a muzzle for a muzzle brake or blueprinting that requires machining of a barrel.

On the other hand, DDTC contends that gunsmithing includes only very simple procedures, such as the one-for-one drop-in replacement of parts that do not require cutting, drilling, or machining for installation. But even then, if the parts “improve the accuracy, caliber, or other aspects of firearm operation,†“manufacturing†may occur. Finishing treatments for firearms generally are not considered manufacturing under the guidance, nor are cosmetic flourishes such as engraving. Meanwhile the mounting of a scope that involves the machining of new dovetails or the drilling and tapping of holes may or not be “manufacturing,†depending on whether the scope improves the accuracy of the firearm beyond its prior configuration. "

so basically if you mount a scope, you're altering the gun and making it more accurate, so you're now breaking the law unless you pay a ridiculous amount of money ($2,250 per year) to be certified as a manufacturer.

or maybe not, it's ambiguous at best!
Just one MORE EO/EM that the courts will TURN DOWN.

The goal is to herd us all into cities to live in tiny boxy apartments (pods) the government will control the environment, allow a certain level of heating and cooling to each pod. Everyone will have censored entertainment, computers and virtual reality stuff, and good tasting highly processed gmo food and weed. No one will be allowed to have any kind of weapon, or anything sharper than a butter knife. Each pod building will be self contained so no one really even has to leave. Kids are being raised to want this so it should not be tough. Eventually more and more will be expected of the pod people and more taken away. They will have been too weakened to resist.

And all this time we have heard how Obama, and now hillary, are FOR the middle class.

IF THIS GOES INTO EFFECT IT WILL HURT THE MIDDLE CLASS

Sometimes dems do stuff like this just to troll conservatives. Conservatives whine about it, they laugh about it and pat each other on the back. It really is that petty sometimes, even at that high of a level. It's always been kind of a childish ideology anyway so it shouldn't be that surprising.
