Oh, touchy are you! What do you think about the article that was presented last night.......should a kid be able to possess pot on school campus and then people sticking up for him claims the charges are unfair?

Its a federal crime to possess MJ on school campus, yet some think Native American boy should get special treatment. Doesn't work that way....are you blind most of the comments find it nothing to be concerned about.

Kids can't smoke pot at school! You don't seem concerned about rapes on the reservation going on, I won't ask you, why!

How about this. Should a kid be allowed to possess a shot of vodka on school campus? No? Then are we supposed to be OK with him facing a year in jail and a criminal record for it?

Before you say alcohol is legal and pot isn't, that is the whole point. Pot should not be federal crime that can send you to jail and scar you for life. We want the silliness of these charges to be as public as it would be if he was facing a year in jail for the possession of a shot of vodka.

He was 19. Yes I believe he should be able to possess pot. Students do thousands and thousands of times of day on campuses all around the country.

What does it say that you have to single out his race? No one should get arrested.

It has nothing to do with this story.

No criminal record. I guess there's a reason why you never made detective before you retired.

Charges weren't even filed until a year after the incident occurred. Guy didn't even have anything on him. He gave a friend 20 dollars to buy him the gram.

You've said numerous times over the years that authorities never arrest people for simple possession cases anymore, and that's why there is no need to change the laws. Is this yet another example of you being incorrect? Seems to be.

He didn't get off. He was correctly convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to 6 months in jail.
And didn't that guy get a plea deal? That's what happens when you pay for a lawyer. The injustice is that poor people cannot afford that, so they get screwed. That's something that BLM or the NAACP should work on, getting better legal representation for black defendants.

Think of the white kid that raped a woman and got off (no pun intended) because he had a bright future.

Pretty incredible, being that the so called law officers on this forum say that they don't charge for small cases, and that peoples lives aren't ruined for possession of cannabis charges.

I look forward to seeing how they justify this, how they justify the use of taxpayer dollars, and how they justify a victimless crime as a crime that should create revenue for the state.

Sounds like the most dangerous part of cannabis is getting caught with it. Cannabis won't ruin your life, but getting caught with it WILL. Anyone who would send someone to jail/prison for a gram of cannabis IS the criminal.
All misdemeanors can have a penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine

Do you even understand Maximum or is this going over your precious head?

Most likely the young man will get a fine and community service......stop and think for 1 minute instead of flying into a fit of rage! Maximum penalty 1 yr.......not Minimum Pot shouldn't be a crime, but it is still a Federal offense and he was on school grounds......get it?

My son at 17 1/2 was walking near school grounds coming back from lunch smoking a cigarette, it was down to the butt......that butt cost him $500.00 and 25 hrs community service.......yeah life sucks sometimes.

Laws are the law and most people know it, we just try to get away with it when we can.
