Looked like the new wild west on the video. He sure pissed a lot of people off in a short time. Whether the shooting was justified or it was not, its just not a good idea to do what he did. The fingers start pointing....where's Al?
Most likely Mr. O'Reilly is taking Mr. Sharpton to a very nice restaurant in Harlem to create yet another diversionary media fiasco.
Someone always has to inject BLACK. Who gives a crap what color he is. It made no difference. Stop trying to insist this only is a black problem. Poor little black kid. Its as if he deserves a special pedestal when committing a crime.. He was in a position where he was putting many peoples live at risk. Get over your racist attitude. Damn Joke.
Take off your blinders, America has a race problem.
NO- you get back up and arrest him- there is no option to shoot UNLESS you feel your life or another life is threatened -- remember that? imminent danger-- trigger happy people in here are -
Not trigget happy people. You think a cop wakes up ad says I hope I get to shoot someone today..
Until you put yourself in harms way, dont think people are out to kill.. remember, the kid was committing several irrational and dangerous decisions threatening lives.
Take off your blinders, America has a race problem.
We sure do
Welcome to reality. Everyone has a little racism, profiling and judgment built into their dna. You do too. Its normal. Its not right, but its normal. Its also taught by friends family etc.. and it got much worse in the last 7.5 years..
The research has turned up some surprises, among them the discovery of striking changes taking place during the teen years. These findings have altered long-held assumptions about the timing of brain maturation. In key ways, the brain doesn’t look like that of an adult until the early 20s.
Crime rates are highest among young males and rates of alcohol abuse are high relative to other ages. Even though most adolescents come through this transitional age well, it’s important to understand the risk factors for behavior that can have serious consequences.
This is why its so easy to kill these youths. So nobody deserves a medal for shooting fish in barrel. If they were wealthy kids and made it to court this is the defense their high paid lawyer would used to get them off with.
Instead or relying on what you have seen on TV what I would suggest is going to a target range where random moving targets pop up and you need to determine if they are threat or not in split second and then hit them. See how easy it is. Fractions of a second is the difference between life and death.
If the job was really THAT tough which it is, then only the people that are cut from that clothe and can handle that pressure should be on the force, makes sense?
The standards for policing should be a little higher than restraining from taking people down, cuffing them and shooting them in the back of the head. Don't ya think?
My point is, if they'd done something like that then it'd be pretty blatant. If I was doing the sorts of things this guy from the story was doing, I'd expect to get shot at bare minimum, with a pretty high chance of getting shot and killed.
The reactions I'm seeing are, "These cops think they are judge, jury and executioner." But that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about people doing life-threatening things to others and then running away for all they're worth. What if the lessons learned were:
1.) Obey the law
2.) Stop Immediately
3.) Turn that sh-t off
4.) Be polite
5.) Don't run away
6.) Stay in your car with your hands on the wheel
If you do all of those things and still get shot by the police, then I've got a huge problem with it. The police live in a world where there is a Fog of War. On top of that we aren't actually there in their shoes when it all goes down.
I think every cop in our nation should wear lapel and car cameras at all times. If they acted inappropriately, then we should have their POV video footage to hold them accountable and to work in their defense when they're falsely accused.
