Futurist110, I understand your view, but you are grasping at straws, playing "who is the victim". Sometimes there is no victim because there is no perpetrator. Sometimes, a cause that creates a negative effect in some respects, is worth more beneficially in its intended purpose. Its is part of making the harsher decisions based on reason rather than emotion.
By your logic, I should slavishly exhibit allegiance to Israel, no? However, I certainly don't actually do this!
The restriction was adopted in order to guarantee that people who still had allegiance to the foreign country of their birth could not be elected.
The thing is, though, that natural-born U.S. citizens can also have dual loyalties and dual citizenship. Heck, just take a look at Jonathan Pollard!

There was also a very specific concern that members of the European aristocracy could come to the United States and use their wealth to buy their way into power. Those are some of the historical reasons. Today, You don't want a rich (insert a country name here) man or woman to be your president, I certainly don't want to.
Frankly, I would certainly rather have a mentally stable but patriotic wealthy European aristocrat as my President than an unstable person such as Donald Trump.

Also, consider this. A naturalized citizen (similar to somebody with a green card) can still go to their original country if there is a war between the U.S. and (insert a country name here)
Actually, No, not always. Indeed, my own parents certainly cannot go to Russia (the country of their birth) due to the fact that they didn't acquire Russian citizenship after the Soviet Union collapsed (they left the Soviet Union several days before it collapsed).

Their children can dodge military service.
Their children can also be natural-born U.S. citizens, no?

Many of us have no countries to go to.
Then try changing this if you want to. Indeed, try acquiring Canadian citizenship, Israeli citizenship, and/or et cetera!
Anyway, please read this letter of mine in its entirety before you actually vote in this poll.
not just no but HECK NO!!!! if you really want a naturalized citizen to be able to run for president, then get the constitution amended to allow it. personally i would fight you tooth and nail to prevent that kind of amendment. and the are not second class citizens, since the only thing they cannot do is be president of the country.

Haaar! That's the very definition of a second class! Jeez Louise, it just doesn't get any more entertaining than this.
So, do you also trust the Founders' decision to allow natural-born U.S. citizens who have dual citizenship to run for the U.S. Presidency?
At the time they seek the presidency, they can only have U.S. citizenship if they want my vote.
