We have no extra money. We are already trillions of dollars in debt. And the Zika problem is international in scope, this should be an issue for the UN to work on and for them to ask other nations to donate to the cause.

Anyway, this is probably Mother Nature trying to get rid of the excess numbers of human beings on the planet. So in the meantime, wherever there is the presence of the Zika virus, the women there need to stop having babies until a cure comes.
1. The fact that it may be international in scope doesn't help Americans who are affected by it.

2. There is no "Mother Nature", no "Tooth Fairy", and no "Easter Bunny".

3. So if you live in a state where the mosquito become endemic, you really expect all women in that state not to have babies?

So what amount of money is Brazil going to contribute to the problem?
If I were a Brazilian, I'd care.

So conservatives never attach riders to congressional bills?

Surely you jest.

Come on now. Just a handful of posts back you said: "The Zika bill is healthcare. Why should it not come from money designated for healthcare?" Medicare is money designated for healthcare.

That's a fair criticism.

However, attaching things to bills that have little to do with the bills is a thing that both parties do ALL THE TIME.

It's not reasonable to label all conservatives as such. However, there are an awfully lot of scientifically related issues where it seems as if much conservative thought ignores science. Things related to the environment, evolution, etc.

The conservatives don't want to kill mosquitos? They like to itch? They have stock in "OFF" mosquito spray? They like blood suckers?

It is, in fact, a rather ordinary chemical with a very bad reputation.
