I guess if you consider the Iraq war and Medicare's annual deficits to be "welfare."

The only president that made progress in the war on poverty was LBJ.

Think on that one. You want a real war on poverty? Up the minimum wage and lock it into a fraction of congressional pay.

The good news is that like moths drawn to a light, they will play out their role as intended...
I will add nothing further to that
"I will add nothing further to that"

Based on your "opinion", thank you.

The majority of welfare recipients that are not elderly, minor or disabled are employed.

Wal Mart is the #1 employer in the welfare system; McDonalds is #2-both nationless corporations that are leeching off the American taxpayer and our hijacked Government to subsidize their employees.

JP Morgan issues the EBT cards and profits from it. Pepsi/Coca-Cola/Yum/etc want legislators to allow for Food Stamp usage at fast food restaurants-they will bleed this rock (our declining society) for all it is worth.

Our Government needs to be one of and for the people-the infiltrators and hijackers that are destroying our Democracy and sovereignty as a nation need to be rotted out-the nationless banks and corporations empowered by the Fed that have become more powerful than Governments.

The Politicians that are nothing more than corporate prostitutes need to be tried for treason and exiled.

If you're going to cite Iraq and other military misadventures -- let's not forget the sops to the ambulance-chasing trial lawyers and public employee unions from the Democrats.

Medicare cost overruns leading to borrowing, and Iraq war costs leading to borrowing, are well documented.

You'll have to explain how public employee unions and trial lawyers impact the U.S. Federal deficit, because I don't see it.

People should have the freedom to negotiate any pay they choose.

The government has no right to say what I can exchange my labor for.

If I want to sell my labor for $5 an hour or $50,000 an hour, that should be between me and the person willing to pay it.
