You can't possibly be suggesting that Obama send our military in to intervene in this matter?

The right wing is really grasping at straws with all this neo-con nonsense. Sounds like they have been reading to many Clancy (RIP) novels

I don't know if you were paying attention but a North Korean missile recently landed in the waters very close to Japan. What was the American response?

When that happened about 10 years ago GW Bush sent air craft carriers with a team of scientists who adapted the Patriot Missile to be launched from the platform of an AC Carrier. That is the response that Japan respects and accepts.

What has Obama done? Absolutely nothing. Now Japan is designing their own missile system. This is where it begins. You think they will stop here?

It was only being beaten in WWII that they modified thier behavior. Now they are rewriting thier history and teaching it to their children who will grow up denying the past.

Very little changed. What changes you think happened were policies imposed on others and once free of them, they revert back to what was.

Its looking through rose colored glasses that makes people think that somehow Japan changed because of something that happened 70 years ago. Technology advancements didn't change what Japan is, it just putba different smile on it.

Americans have short memories and we tend to think that winning a battle or war means that the losers will then change forever the way we want.

How has that worked out?

We won the cold war, good result? Europe is basically a shambles, Russia is again pushing.

Germany? Headed toward yet another "awakening" but look around, who controls the EU? They do.

The middle east? We won wars, twice. What changed? The factions. The killing continues.

Nothing changed except the facades of leadership, what the people were remains.

Then cut those troops and get rid of the equipment.

And that six billion figure may be right or wrong. There are tons of costs associated with stationing troops overseas. I've heard that the figure is as high as 20 billion.

Time to leave Japan. We serve no purpose there, and we keep Japan from doing it's historical job of defending herself and being a bulwark against Chinese ambitions.

People in Peoria have no reason to finance that mission.

They're nuts...they really are.

No amount of losing wars is ever enough for them. They aren't happy unless they're sticking their noses in someone's business.

It doesn't concern us one way or another if it "stops here" or not.

People who are paid a lot better than you understand this situation and don't buy into your truculent "let's start a war" mentality.

Good move by Japan.
Not only that, but the OP forgets that the Orange One wants them to have nukes, too.

Let's face it: some guys would blame Obama if they slipped on a banana peel.

(Not to mention the gross hyperbole that they're heading for war).

Not that I think it is impossible Japan could fight a war of aggression on foreign soil ever again. But that doesn't even register on a list of likely scenarios for the near term. The only East Asian country looking to expand its territory at present is China.

Not because it comes natural to them, but because they have to for survival because this dolt does not inspire safety or confidence for them.

Everything that happens everywhere in the world is Obama's fault

No worries. Come 1/20/2017 World Peace will finally be achieved when Trump is elected.
