Since all religion is based on faith, and faith is a tacit declaration of personal intent to ignore reality, then any and all religions can devolve at any time to violence and mayhem. Once evasion and avoidance of reality becomes a central plank of one's philosophy, anything goes, and any evil becomes possible. So today, yes: Islam is in a state of debauchery and destruction. However other religions have been there, are getting there, and will arrive there as you move through time.

It is irrational to pick on Islam, you need to address all irrational religions, which are, of course, all of them. Islamic self-destruction is just today's random phase. And so is western Christianity's peaceful current state. It is all ephemeral, since it is based on irrationality, avoidance, evasion, and faith.

Faith is the modern destroyer of civilization, and how you practice that faith matters little. It will always lead to destruction and self-immolation since reality is what it is, and avoiding it leads to failure and collapse.

The answer to stop all of this? Reason. Reality. What exists. What is. And embracing it.

Millennials are overall pretty ghastly in terms of their philosophy and politics. But their pervasive rejection of religion is one thing they have gotten right. That bodes well for the next generation. If we can get rid of this horrific yoke, we might one day be truly free.

Apples and oranges. None of the non-Muslim groups you mention do anything in the name of Christianity. The jihadis do everything in the name of Islam. Were American criminals to do things in the name of Christianity they would be roundly denounced. Muslims just look the other way when the jihadis commit violent acts.

The Difference is Christianity has evolved and those who do horrible things are prosecuted. Islam is still back in the 2 Century and Kills everyone who does not agree with the Religion.
Modern Islam does not police its own.

There is a simple answer. It's not. The reason it is put on the pedestal by Democrats is votes. The "Hispanic Project", as I call it, is now complete. It has worked beautifully. Moreover, it is self sustaining so they don't have to do anything more to keep it growing. Its time to work on another front and there come the Muslims. Ever wondered why there is at least one hijabi right behind Hillary?

Which "branch?"They have no disagreement on the basics. That's why no matter where or when they come to power, Islamists rule pretty much the same way. They are following the same playbook.

Please explain why you think Islam is such a great religion and how you don't see a double standard among Democrats and civil rights vs the lack of civil rights with Islam.
The answer is that Islam is not an Abrahamic derived religion anymore if it ever as. It is evil that sits on the top of oil and the power that comes with it. It is not a great religion and even Rumi who was a gentle follower of Muhammad was disposed of.

The last words said by the priest in France who was beheaded at the alter was 'go away Satan' and the Archbishop included a statement that Malach/moloch - the Canaanite God Baal- was with the people who do these acts. Truer words not spoken

If it was Abrahamic at one time it has been has been swallowed up by Imans and leaders who use the faith to their own ends. They may only be 19% or 9% of the religious but they use it and cow people into submission or fear of reprisal.

So here we are, the power elite and not only Hillary take money and do favors for the elite who sit on a seething caldron of this mess. Even the queen of England had jewels as gifts from from these counterpart kings. The elite benefit so they turn blind eyes. Don't upset the apple cart.

So this makes Trumps position even more logical. Our country should become energy independent by all means possible. Let us get out of that mess and let it clean its own house if it will. Maintain diplomatic relations and let those who say 'that is not my faith, it is them' straighten up their own religion and bring it back to Abrahamic if they can. Do not allow the elite to benefit from this mess any longer.
