I don't understand what the controversy is. Clinton said Powell gave her that advice. She never said when. Powell admitted giving that advice, just not before she started using her private server.
Now, this gives a complete rundown on her using private email which she was doing before this conversation with Colin Powell when she was a senator from 2001 to 2009 and carried that over to the SOS.

Right, since they are both saying the same thing, it does not make sense to ask "Who do you believe, Powell OR Clinton".

The controversy, which anyone with a brain including Colin Powell understands, is that Hillary is trying to defend her conduct by setting up an equivalency between what Powell did and what she did. She further tries to defend herself by stating that he told her to use private e-mail.
The point that Hillary and her shills deliberately miss is that the situations are not congruent by any stretch of the imagination because 1) Powell NEVER set up his own server (and never advised her to do that); 2) he never told her to use exclusively private email for State Department business; and 3) whatever was said between the two about the use of private e-mail occurred a year AFTER Hillary's bathroom server was up and running.

Or did I miss Clinton's statement in which she spells out that what she did is completely different than what Colin Powell did, and that Colin Powell nor anyone else has ever set up a private server in their bathroom to evade government oversight?
Please provide a link to Clinton's statement that makes it clear that she agrees Colin Powell's conduct as SOS was nothing like hers with regard to handling classified information.

How about you provide the quotes since you are the one insisting she said something about when the advice was given.
I am under the impression she has not made any statements about this publicly, and the whole story is pulled from someone else's book, and the only thing which is mentioned is the conversation between Powell, Albright and Clinton, where Albright asked Powell to give some advice to Hillary regarding the use of emails, and he did. It doe not say when the advice was given.
