When headlines are half-truths used to advance an agenda I have a problem with that. It is akin to the misuse of statistics. I have a problem with that too.

There is no half truth in that headline. The guy is either unarmed or he is not. If you consider a hand an arm, then the headline could actually never be used.
What exactly would you replace it with when one is carrying nothing?
I'm not sure what your point is. A skumbag beats a women and ends up in prison for a long time. End of story?
I simply used unarmed to make a point. Unarmed people can hurt you pretty badly. In the last couple of years there has been a series of "cop shoots unarmed man" headlines even when the cop killed an aggressor.
If you want to get supporters for your agenda lies and half-truths only work in the short run.

Once again, the intent of the headline is to suggest the individual shot was not a threat. In the last couple years "unarmed" is suddenly showing up in headline after headline. There is an agenda. In some ways I have no problem with that agenda. No one is in favor of police brutality. However, I don't want to see good cops dragged through the mud either. Or killed, like what happened in Dallas.

The cops said that Laquan McDonald was being aggressive also but when we finally got to see the video the cop unloaded into his back as he was walking away and continued to shoot him as he was lying in the road.
People call me anti-cop when in fact I am the opposite. Thousands of good cops get unfairly painted as liars because of the liars that are allowed to get away with their lying.
The entire Cleveland Police force got a black eye over hiring an incompetent officer and then allowing him to lie about the facts of him shooting Tamir Rice. People do not trust the police for valid reasons.
Some of them lie and are allowed to get away with it. We are at least seeing some finally get held accountable.

Because you say something is happening does not make it so. If you don't want to see good cops dragged through the mud you'll actually read what I said above.
Two different possible headlines for the Brown/Wilson altercation:
Cop shoots unarmed black teen.
Cop shoots 300 lb man charging him.
Did any of the headlines state that?
