If he wants to make a statement and a difference then how about donating 50% of his salary to the families of police shooting victims - that would demonstrate real concern and nobody would criticize him for it.
Nope. He's already chosen his method of protesting.
This wasn't the first incident, there was another NBA player besides the one listed below who also protested during the anthem.
Quote:
Abdul-Rauf is perhaps best known for the controversy created when he refused to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner" before games,[40] stating that the flag was a symbol of oppression and that the United States had a long history of tyranny.[41] He said that standing to the national anthem would therefore conflict with his Islamic beliefs. On March 12, 1996, the NBA suspended Abdul-Rauf one game for his refusal to stand. Two days later, the league was able to work out a compromise with him, whereby he would stand during the playing of the national anthem but could close his eyes and look downward.
Trump is right 100%.That clown QB should shut the hell up and play ball bc he sucks at it enough....attack cops, reach for a weapon, etc YOU WILL GET SHOT!
Who cares about a second string qb anyways? Only forest trump.
I'm thinking Syria, he would be so much less oppressed there...leave that nasty $114M in the land of the oppressed. Plus, they give out free suicide vests in Syria.....no race discrimination.
Please, you wouldn't be happy with any platform he would have used. Don't kid yourself.
You're going to continue to find ways to complain about what he did regardless and if I don't stand for the pledge of allegiance at work, nobody cares.
Something you probably haven't realized is that he was sitting during the anthem a few times before anyone even noticed. It wasn't until someone simply asked him why he wasn't standing that he explained why. He didn't go out of his way to say "hey, look what I'm doing everyone". It was silent protest.
"Please, you wouldn't be happy with any platform he would have used. Don't kid yourself."
Not another poster who CLAIMS to KNOW everything there is to know about another poster.
Hint, you DON'T know JACK about me so QUIT making a fool of yourself by making claims about what would make me happy or not.
"It was silent protest."
Hey genius, he gave an interview. You should watch it BEFORE digging your hole deeper!
I think there are better ways to go about this, but Kaepernick has 1st Amendment rights. If you're bothered by him exercising his rights and believe things should only be your way maybe you're the one that needs to find a new country. As for Trump, he isn't going to get black votes by slamming a person that is doing this to bring more light to modern civil rights issues.
