America touts itself as being a free country. If the country is so free, why is someone getting flak for doing something he is free to do?

Sitting there quietly is being respectful. Being loud and obnoxious during the nation anthem is being rude.

Sooooooooooooo what is it?
His Black Father abandoned him before he could take his first breath. White people adopted him, raised him and without them he was destined to be nothing but another gutter rat.

Now he surrounds himself with police going to and leaving games. Another hypocrisy filled liberal.

Guess what? He still turned out to be a gutter rat.

First of all, almost everybody here is saying he has the right to protest.

The bold, both can create attention grabbing headlines, depends on the situation and individual.

So not being raised by whites = turning out to be a gutter rat?

Is what CNN posted not true...or?

I'm just wondering why this is getting so much media attention. There are about 1000 other things we need to be focusing on right now.

You evidently don't understand the nature of what is protest, we know you don't agree with his protest, but you don't get to determine what is and how is - his method of choice to protest. and Guess What? He likely does not care whether you like his method, nor his position and the objective of his stand. He is engaging his position and it has achieved much to his liking, what he intended it to do. That's bring attention that he may direct upon the point of his concerns.
