Pretty cool step in my opinion, but I think it would be better if they found a way to give preferential admission to all descendants of all slaves. Still, this is better than not doing anything.

"Mr. DeGioa’s decision to offer an advantage in admissions to descendants, similar to that offered to the children and grandchildren of alumni, is unprecedented, historians say. The preference will be offered to the descendants of all the slaves whose labor benefited Georgetown, not just the men, women and children sold in 1838."

If they can't even get a BC to get photo ID, how are they going to prove anything here? Hmmm....

So Jews and Irish included? I'm pretty sure everyone is descendant of a slave at some point in history.

This move is helping to level the playing field. I need to get ready for work and I'm not sure it is worth explaining it to you but maybe someone here can???

Good for them. Hopefully from now on the only Whites who apply there will be descendants of Irish indentured servants.

Don't throw facts of other slaves , that will put microagressions on some.

It just separates us more.
Schools, Colleges n Universities are business's. Obviously marketing did research and realized the ROI of investors and special government funding outweighed backlash to this type of favoritism.

Would descendants of European, Russian and Asian sex slaves in the USA qualify or would only certain types of slave descendants get the added handout?
