to discriminate based solely on a person's religion?
would be curious to know the legal aspect of this. he's posted a sign but, as far as we know, hasn't actually discriminated. does the law distinguish between the two?
I wonder the same thing. I doubt the business owner can legally do such a thing, but I could be wrong.
"we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" is legal, but this "anyone" cannot be based on sexual orientation, gender, religious belief I think. The business owner obviously took a risk.
It's in Lonsdale. If you studied the area you would note that it is heart of Bohemian country....We don't have to many Muslims to contend with here......
A Minnesota restaurant owner upset over what happened in St. Cloud posted a controversial sign Monday morning.
The sign outside Treats Family Restaurant in Lonsdale, Minnesota, reads “Muslims Get Out.” A second line reads “In Support Of St. Cloud.”
Owner Dan Ruedinger says the sign has led to some backlash, but he says business is up so much that he had to call in three extra workers Monday.
Some locals like it... some don't. He has a right just like anyone else. Obviously many support his message.
Lol...and supposedly, you're black.
Your myopia doesn't allow you to see the implications of something like this...until you get to a restaurant and there's a sign disallowing YOUR entry. Then what are you gonna do?
This is a great illustration of the conservative mindset. Go backwards and promote discrimination based on ephemeral racial, ethnic or religious tensions.
Then they'll start a thread asking why so and so won't vote Republican. SMH

I see you still have issues with diversity of opinion - in that all black folk must think alike.
So tell me... more of these attacks are occurring by people claiming to be of this particular religion. How do regular people get some sense of control here? Or are we just sitting ducks until the next attack?

I do not blame him when this hits home. This goes back to following the Immigration Laws and vetting who comes in. Obama's and Clinton foreign Policy is to blame why there is so many refugees.
The sign says “Muslims Get Out” ... as in out of his town or the country or whatever.
The sign does not say “Muslims Stay Out” or "No Muslims Allowed" ... as in you aren't allowed in this building if you're a Muslim.
Legal hair splitting but worth mentioning.
Yes, the sign is just an opinion. Until he actually refuses to serve muslims then I don't think he's violating any laws.
