Nope. People can say anything they want on the internet. Doesn't make it true. But your visceral hatred of progressivism, which built this nation, is the biggest tell.

Not true about common interests. There is always something. How about pets for instance? Many people with opposite views on politics have and love their pets and can discuss them with others despite political differences.
I find many leftists gets pets and treat them as children INSTEAD of having kids. It points to the traditional family issue.

Its indeed very hard being a democrat, our goals are hard to attain. We want to progress society to a more inclusive and better world thru a combination of government policy, tax, regulation, and free market coordination. The right wants the government tondo very little to improve peoples lives. Talk about religious blind faith, the right believes in a benevolent free market that will provide prosperity to everyone. While its easier to just be a member of the new t ght wing which doesnt care for society as a whole. Yet, all right wingers all want their SSA, workers com, Medicare, farm subsidies, and government contracts.

Well I don't believe you are even a progressive. I think you're lying and are really a conservative.

This points to a fairly tenuous grip on reality. And that is not only common, it is customary with those on the
alt-right.

The real tragedy of conservative thought (if you can call this thought) is that the corporatists who really run this country tell the GOP voter that limited government creates jobs, while the whole point of limited government is to enrich the 1% with favorable taxation and trade policies that hurt those the most working for 50k a year, or less.

They do this by appealing to their emotions, not their intellect. It's easy to appeal to peoples emotions, and in order to do this, you must have an enemy, and you must make them feel threatened. Whether its blacks, Mexicans, Muslims, liberals, whomever, they find someone to direct their genuine frustration towards rather than who they should be directing their frustrations towards: Republicans in government.

Those who are working to actively undermine government functioning properly (conservatives), those who actively work to divide this country (conservatives) and those who work actively make the middle class poorer and while enriching their corporate donors who they are actually working for.

Yep, conservatives again. This is why the Dumbing Down of America is deliberate, targeted, and highly effective. This forum provides copious amounts of evidence.

People tend to have basic ideals in common. They arent confused, you just failed to realize that simple truth.

Once you pass the basics, yes, people are different and disagree on many issues.

American politics is so extreme right that people legitimately believe Dems are leftists. They aren't. Leftist economics call for the means of production to be controlled by the government (socialism, statism), communities (communism), workers (libertarian socialism), or unions (syndicalism). Name a single Democrat calling for economic reforms to support any one of these, and they are a true leftists.

Sanders is an Independent but he is the closest federal politician to represent this.

I don't think they do have basic ideals in common. 100 years ago, that would generally have been true.

Today, it's "anything goes" for a good chunk of the population. Leftists have that as a philosophy....as long as the "thing" is not interfering with the power of the State.
